Regardless of the number of perceived HP gains the real world results show that 7 (SEVEN) OUT OF THE TOP 10 (10) BEST PERFORMING camaros are L/99s that according to GM have 25 less HP at the crank than do the LS3s. Basically the same mods done to all the camaros but the L/99s with horsepower robbing automatics are setting the best performances in 7 out of the top ten performances. Numbers on paper or dyno graph can be misleading. 60' times... 330'...1/8 mile...1000'... and 1/4 mile et and trap speed is the real measure of HP and torque gains throughout the powerband. Get them FIRST, do you mods and make some more passes. You'll then know the real deal.
while I agree with some of this statement, the reason Autos show better at the dragstrip is often driver mod.
Also, 60', 330', 1/8th and 1/4 mile ETs are a function of traction, MPH in the 1/4 is the best way to gauge power output. A 250 rwhp Fox Body Mustang may go 13.0@100 with good traction, and a 450 rwhp Chally may run the same 13.0 but at @110...lack of traction makes for a slow ET, but you can see from the trap speed it is making more power.
