I must admit in gets old quick in NYC traffic, moving under 5 mph for 30+ min is not fun. But for the most part I don't think I would change it for an auto.

My wife doesn't know how to drive it. I tried to teach her on the BMW yrs ago but she got frustrated. I think it is tougher to learn when you are older (30s versus teens) and many people get intimidated. I will try and teach her this summer on the Camaro but I am not sure how it will go. Driving in a city like NY is tougher then rural roads.

Yup Im a woman and when I was 12 my mom took me out and would regularly let me drive the stick in traffic, illegal I know but those were different times also. Me and my family all drive stick. In fact our family owns all stick shift cars. thats just the way I grew up....in fact I ended up trying to teach my boyfriend in highschool how to drive stick...um ya... but I agree weither its a lady or a man, its usually the fact that they were raised around people who just drove autos and people today like the comfort and ease more. I think people feel its just to much to concetrate on when driving and I understand that, but for me its as easy as blinking an eye. I truly think people who dont drive stick are really missing out on having the ultimate control and a simplicity in their car.

allthough my first camaro had an auto , the PO put a shift kit in it and in that old car everytime it would downshift it would jerk you back into your seat and just about knock the wind out of you and I loved it. Instead I needed my left foot to brace myself around corners which was nice. At stop lights it would rumble and growl moving the whole car to the stroke of the engine. It was not a cushy ride it was very rough , loud and mean and I loved it, thats what a camaro is to me.
