Of course they should build a supercharged Camaro! I just wouldn't label it Z28 unless it has a smaller displacement than the 6.2L V8 from the SS. That would better fit the Z28 tradition.
For the sake of argument, I will post the traditional Camaro-Corvette hierarchy.
• Corvette ZR1
• Camaro ZL1
• Corvette Z06
• Camaro Z28*
• Corvette
• Camaro SS*
• Camaro LT
• Camaro LS
While there may be other models, like the Corvette Z51 or other performance trims, these are the most well-known. The Camaro LS is new to the hierarchy, and the Camaro LT was only used for a short period in the past. Neither the SS nor Z28 necessarily has to be faster than a Corvette. *
The Camaro Z28 was more track-oriented in the past, so it does not necessarily out-perform the Camaro SS. In effect, they switched places for the fourth generation.
On this issue of hierarchy, no platform is superior. We are all Camaro enthusiasts. It is important that we respect the decisions of our members. They picked the best car for their purposes.
