Clearly a high quality modern slush box but it has no driver interface such as paddle shifters or a Tiptronic. That was the deal breaker for me. All I need to know is, "do Formula1 drivers long for manuals?" The answer is no. The modern select shift in almost all well designed cars, will beat a manaul. My suspicion is that Ford didn't offer it because an old fashinoed auto gives tne manufacturer great control over fuel mileage and helps their overall average. Just my opinion.

don't confuse being able to control the auto to better performance. just about all of the fastest camaro times have been shifted automatically by the transmission computer. the camaro 6spd automatic is no F1 transmission.
selecting you're own gears on a standard auto is just gimmicky and there's no fun in shifting with paddle shifters.
