I don't agree... Car's today use galvanized steel to prevent rust unlike all those cars from the 70's and 80's that are rotting away. And the reason paint chips now is because its covering the front of the car, up until the late 80's most cars had metal or plastic front bumpers not painted ones.
a $2000 car (+insurance etc) to carry a $500 bike once a week to a trail (which oviously many times the road to the trail is paved) is retarded. As well I race TT and road bikes and do Triathlons. I'm not driving on trails I'm taking the normal streets to parks etc because I can't ride my TT bike on the road.
