"Paint was not more durable back in the day" - that sh*t faded, most lacked a real clear coat, it didnt have as many paint layers for protection, not to mention not nearly as environmentally friendly...do some research before you post

Your right though I was drawing a conclusion based on the EPA mandates of water based paint and the multitude of stories of paint chips on the Camaro.
My 96 Ford Ranger looked just a new a year ago as it probably did in 1996.
