I do think he is taking his chances with the stock rods though.

when i say that, it depends on rev level. if your buddy keep it below 6200 it will live forever. if he revvs it 6600 it will eventually die.
a bolt-on 815rwhp is just average for a gt500. it depends on how high it is revved. the rods are similar to the 5.0 rods. they are stronger, but the same metalurgy.
