I don't want to jack this guys thread anymore than it already has been, but when shit hits the fan and your the guy crying and clinging to a LEO/someone who was prepared, maybe then you'll understand.

Articles written by folks that believe in carrying...a bit biased. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Anytime that you're close to an issue, your 'ear' for extremes begins to dilute.

I've never been a sheep, and at almost 40 years old I have yet to run into a single situation in which carrying a weapon would have benefited the situation in a positive manner. Keep in mind, I'm FINE with your right & choice to conceal/carry, as long as you obey the laws as they're written and don't unnecessarily endanger others (which means using good judgment and understanding that brandishing your firearm should always be the LAST resort). But that's way off topic.

To the OP...regarding places to store your weapon in your car. I would think there would be two primary concerns. Where to store it safely and where to store it securely. I would think that very low on the priority list would be 'quick and easy access'. By that, I mean it's not very likely that you're going to face a situation where your 'draw time' is going to have a measurable outcome on the situation. The likelihood that you'll be firing from the drivers seat I would imagine is slim to none...so store it safely and securely. It may add a few seconds to your normal ingress/egress routine...but you'll be operating more responsibly. Just my opinion.
