I think this is a little different though, because it is my understanding you definately need to load the engine to seat the rings in but shocking the drivetrain with a clutch drop, or otherwise, is a little more taxing on the car than loading on a dyno'. I've read breaking an engine in on the dyno' is actually the best way to do it. However, don't forget you're breaking in a
car, not just the engine
