California is bankrupt. There are 14 million registered cars in CA. If each of those front plates costs, say $10 (pay the criminal to bang 'em out, the transport, the clerical labor, etc), the savings would be $140,000,000 (spread over a few years because the plate are good for a while). If the price was $5, the savings would be $70,000,000, etc. You can get a lot of drug users fresh needles for that coin.

My point is FL is not bankrupt and neither is TX. We don't have front plates, so are they really needed in NJ and CA ? The cops will have to walk around the back of a parked car to see the plate..big deal, I say.
