With all the states that are going broke, couldn't they save million$ a year by getting rid of the front license plate requirement? They could have more money to burn on social programs for drug addicts and lazy people. Your Camaros would look better too
Great idea? Write your congresssman.

Any one can look up what I am going to say and they will find that it is true. In the mid 1960's our plates were made at the state prison in Walpole. One year all of the paint started peeling off of the plates. They found out that the convicts were urinating in the paint and that this caused the problem. Our government started buying the plates from a company in Ohio and went to a single license plate to save money. We keep our plates forever here and eventually the company told our state that we were not ordering enough plates for them to make money and wanted out of the deal. Our then governor, Michael Stanley Dukakis asked if they would continue supplying us if we doubled the order. They said yes and he issued an executive order in the 1980's mandating two plates per car. I have the old plate on my Camaro that has the green numbers and do not need a front plate. My other car has the new one with the red letters and requires two plates. We get a new mylar tag to update the plates every two years. you only get one tag for the rear to prevent putting one red plate on two different cars. This is our politicians at work.
