UAW = United Auto Workers....

So I read in the paper the other day that GM has an agreement with the UAW that they will build the camaro for them in one of the factories in Canada... But the factory was leveled there, so no Camaro until that agreement runs out was the guess. The speculation was that was alot of the reason we will see the car in 2008 at the earliest. I dont get it, how can an autoworkers union decide where a car should be built, shouldnt GM just make these decisions on their own, afterall its their company right ??
