The Camaro should be a muscle car regardless of the engine... it's just the class it belongs in. Same goes for the Mustang, Challenger, and the classics as well.

That's the problem with one car having different engines, the people who own the V8's are always looking down on the V6's, and the V6's are always looking down on the 4-bangers.
i would say the v6 camaro's are considered pony cars. the term pony car was created when mustang came out with their v6. pony cars were considered smaller engine cars, youth-oriented (price wise), and had a large range of options to individualize.
