#1 The Shelby is F/I with forged internals. That means that it has a much higher ceiling on stock motor than the SS and mod for mod will always win. Never mind that it already has 114 hp on the SS.
(they compared the SS with 111hp on the 2010 gt and nobody had a problem)

#2 Chevy's top dog doesn't exist yet. Yes you can call the SS the top model because the Z28 isn't out yet, but we all know it's coming. Did you really think GM would have released the SS as is if they weren't planning on building something in the future to compete with the GT500? The SS is just GM's interim champ.
(They are still comparning the top level current camaro to the mid level mustang any way you slice it)

#3 The SRT-8 and SS are comparable because they have similar hp and performance numbers. I don't think its fair to compare the R/T to the SS either, even though they fall around the same price point.
(This nullify's your point #2 where you are comparing top to mid, but now you are comparing top to top? and also goes against your point #1 since the 2010 Mustang did not have similar hp to the camaro, but i'm sure you were fine with that)
The SS and 5.0 are higher volume models than the Shelby and they compete on price and performance. When you are comparing "Top Dogs" your just arguing semantics.

Hopefully when the Z finally drops all these arguments will be put to rest

To the OP, sorry for getting off topic but as stated; gears, intake, and driver mod should take care of that 5.0
My thoughts in bold.
