It has little HP, little torque, and requires that you run a gas engine between 1500 and 2000 rpm at times, while taking 6 hours to charge, and it still only gets 50 MPG.

I haven't seen a Hybrid car that I like. It has to be 100% pure electric. Hybrids to me seem like someone comprimised with the oil companies.
It's not a hybrid. It's an extended range electric vehicle.

Umm...yeah. It's called practicality. The Volt allows you to drive infinite distances while an electric car like the Leaf will leave you stranded at the side of the road once you hit the end of its EV range. The gas engine only comes on once you hit the end of the 40 mile EV range.

You're complaining about the Volt taking six hours to charge from any standard household outlet when other cars like the Leaf requires a dedicated recharging unit?

And little torque? Since when is over 200 lb. ft. of torque in a compact car "little?" Did I mention that it's instant torque on launch? The Volt is a rocket compared to conventional hybrids.
