HP Tune question
I took my 2SS L99 in for headers/exhaust/and an HP tune recently. The shop said my car was so new (built on January 11, 2010) that HP didn't have a tune for it yet, so they sent my stock tune to HP to have them create a tune file for my car. When they got the new tune file back, they then used that software to dynotune my car.
When I drove it home, I punched it a bit on the expressway and it didn't feel right. It seemed to hesitate when it was shifting as I accelerated instead of just taking off and pulling hard through each shift. I thought maybe the tires slipped because it had rained earlier that day.
Well, since then, this has happened to me at least 3 more times. At a meet up of some Camaro friends last weekend, one of the folks there (who I won't name here, but let me say he knows what he's talking about) said that the tune needs to be adjusted because the car is "flaring" because the torque management is not correct in the tune. He said the transmission is not locking in at each shift and the transmission seems to be slipping when it shifts. (That was my understanding anyway.)
So, I called the shop that did the tune on Monday and explained this to them. They say that the tune I got has only 2 parameters they can adjust. They said the "older cars" had like 10 parameters they can adjust. So they said they may not be able to do anything about my problem, but they will look at it tomorrow.
Does this sound right to you guys?
