I get the exact same thing! Probably 3 out of 5 times backing up, wheel usually has to be turned at least a little bit, and every time when backing up down hill (like a steep driveway). This occurred with my stock brakes AND with my Brembo big brakes as well. I believe it is the ABS or some system controlling it.

I had an issue with second gear not going in at all once. My car had been sitting at work since lunch in the parking garage when I got in it to leave aroun 5pm. I had driven it earlier (normal driving) and not had a single issue. I got in my car, started it, and pulled on the shifter towards me to make sure it was not in gear and it felt spongy. It felt like something was in the way. I then pulled it down in to second gear (still sitting in the garage not moving with my foot on the clutch pedal on the floor) and it wouldn't go in at all. I took my foot off the pedal and pushed it back down then tried to put the shifter in second again, it wouldn't go. Now I'm freaking out thinking I broke something and how am I gonna get this thing out of the parking garage. So I pushed it into second and kinda forced it in. It was very tough but I got it in. Thinking it was just the gears in a weird position or something I proceeded to drive out of the garage in 1st gear. I tried shifting into second, it wouldn't go in.
I got out of the garage and proceeded to drive home thinkin I would just skip 2nd. At some point I realized I was able to put it in second again, but it was difficult to get it in. Also one in second gear, the shifter didn't moved at all. In every other gear the shifter will move side to side just a little bit, but when in second it wouldn't budge.
This only happened that one time, and it was only on the way home that it did it. Eventually the shifter began to move from side to side in second gear, and I haven't really had any other issue since.
The other day I hit it kinda hard in 1st and pushed the clutch all the way down, put it in second and it grinded with the clutch fully disengaged. Just a quick grind and that was it.
Other than those two things i haven't had any problems in 20,000 miles.
