PF48 is the perfect filter for the application. You can pay more and accomplish nothing.

It's actually quite simple when you know your vehicle, how it performs, and watching the gauges. The stock GM filter on the 5.3 is good but you get better oil pressure and quicker responses using the K&N on those engines. I'm not as fimiliar with the L99 and LS3 yet.
