I've always wanted a brand new 1969 Z28, but was too young to buy one. As my forum name implies this is my 2cnd Chance. But I don't/won't spend CRAZY money for it.
This and the fact that others feel like me, while yet others (self included) don't want a luxury 2 door CTS-V. This leads me to propose that the Z28 should be offered not as a stripped down race car, but base it with few bells and whistles. Then offer luxo packages as upgrades. The base car should be very performance oriented, but not sans sound deadening, or have crazy low gearing that sacrifices gas mileage, etc. By doing this it allows these two groups to join in, one that wants a base race car and the other that just wants to be able to afford one. The guy/lady that has $50,000. to blow on a car will only have to option it out to the max. Do this and you will sell a lot more of them!
I too always wanted a 69 Z/28 UNTIL I saw the new Camaro. I knew that Chevy had to make another Z/28, hopefully the dream will become a reality soon. This is what I would like to see:

Base Z/28 - LSA engine, Six piston Brembos, Heavy duty drive line and half shafts, lowered suspension about an 1", 275/19 tires up front and 305/19's in the rear, ram air hood and taller rear spoiler, 1SS interior. $42,000 to 45,000 price tag.

Enhanced Z/28 - Everything from base car but with 2SS package, leather interior, gauge cluster, HUD. $47,000 to 50,000 price.

RS Package and Sunroof available as option on either model.
