According to an article I read Canadians imported 60,000 cars in Q3 2008 from the US. The exchange rate is not the only factor. There are huge discrepancies between these markets. Just look around at luxury cars.
Yeah, I have bought a motorcycle from Guelph, Ont back in 2000 because it was cheaper due to the exchange rate. I also sell motorcycle aftermarket turnsignals for a company in Canada and always paid attention to the exchange rate and adjusted my prices accordingly. I didn't realize cars didn't pay attention to this exchange rate when pricing their vehicles.
