Nothing you do to your car will out right void your warranty. That is a big myth. However, GM is clearly not going to pay to fix a problem that wasn't caused by their parts. The only real warranty implications are going to be drive train parts "down stream" from the rear end because they will be under some additional stress, in other words your axles.
