So Do a donut don't lock the wheel. Though the design flaw in the dodge would still cause the pump hose to blow because of the extra pressure.

I think I understand. The power steering pump is not well regulated then. Not much is demanded from the pump when going straight so high RPM of the engine does not delivering much from the pump. But when the wheel is turned, the pump has a lot of demand on it, and if the engine is as high RPM there is nothing that regulates what is delivered by the pump other than the engine RPM so there is a potential for damage when it over-delivers so to speak.
