Damm, I hate people with money.

Please don't be Stupid. To spend the extra money on one of the performance enhanced cars is a waste of money of a few tenths of a second better. Look, when it is all said and done the Camaro is WAY WAY WAY too heavy.

None of us have any idea as to what exact circumstances led to this malpractice payout. I'm no fan of the way the lawsuit-happy system we have works either, but until I see evidence to convince me otherwise I'll grant a fellow member the benefit of the doubt that it was a legitimate suit. I also am not a fan of taking such a win and putting it all into a new high-performance car, but it wasn't stated that all the money was going into a Camaro - just that $60,000 of that was devoted to a new car. For all we know the payout after legal fees could have been a million dollars, compared to which $60,000 is relatively a drop in the bucket. Either way, so long as someone has the means to support themselves locked away before spending a portion of this windfall on a new toy, what difference does it make how it's spent?

So now that we know that we don't know what the financial situation is, down to the choice of vehicle. The OP never said she wanted her car to be the best for cruising, or the best at the track, or even your excuse to buy, that it has a great body style. What difference does any of that make? Most people who buy Corvettes and GT500s don't buy them to kick ass at a track either, are you going to tell them they should have bought a slower Mercedes instead to suit their driving style rather than the style of what they drive?

So you wouldn't buy a high-performance Camaro for $60,000. Fine, duly noted, even though that's clearly not the advice the OP was looking for. If I had the money to spend to buy your SS or your motorcycles I wouldn't do that either, but you don't see me laying into you for "wasting" money. Brand-loyalty aside, if efficiently spending money on a performance car is the goal, why "waste" it on a 1969 Camaro, or a Corvette Z06 when he could put $60,000 down on a Dodge Viper that'll beat the Z06, or even the more expensive than both ZR1?

Your individual thoughts on what that kind of money should be spent on are your right, but especially as you can see that your priorities are not shared by everyone here, why trample on others' ideas, much less scorn them for having money and not spending it the way you would.
