Both are great cars and definetly choose the one for all the right reasons and needs as you will have to live with it for awhile.
I have the 2ltrs and after 28 years of driving v-8 Camaros I really had to think hard about the transition. I have had it for 5 months and do think it is a great car!!!! As I get older and dare say more practical the v6 made more sense to me for my situation. If the v6 wasn't this good I would have waited awhile and bought the v8 as I didn't really have to have the car at the time, as I have a 390/405 98 z28 m6 that can pull .96g sitting in the drive.
To compare the two the new one is better as a vehicle other then pure acceleration. It corners as good on the street or in the twisties although it obviously feels the extra 350 lbs. It is more comfortable, better mpg, more modern convenieces and luxery items and love the sun roof!!! The body structure cant compare as this car is from what I hear about as strong as GM makes, and no rattles!!! Add exhaust, headers and intake Like I did and lower springs plus sways if desired for better feel and handling and I don't know what else is needed!!!
If you use it as a daily driver you can save cash and have fun all at the same time, if you do want the v8,can afford it, never had one before or intend to race alot, this would be the car to have it in, for who knows how long the v8's will be around!
As stated either way you have two great choices and also the added feature of great looks. I have never had people taking pictures or video's of a car going down the freeway as they do this one, or sooo many thumbs up's and "man thats a nice Camaro" So pick the one best for you and enjoy!!!!!!
