Let me try to slow this down for you.
No driver will ever be better than a computer. Computers don't make mistakes, drivers do. Why do you think the fastest cars are automatic. The LS3 has more horsepower, yes, but it depends solely on the ability of the driver to use it. You may weigh less, you may have 35 more horsepower but you can't drive, and my computer can.
Ever wonder why Z06/GT500 can get beat by an SS or a s197? It's because the guy in the drivers seat shifting can't drive.

Uh...so far manuals almost ALWAYS beat out an auto. Why? Because even though the computer can theoretically shift at the optimal points, they just don't. They pretty much only can work in a drag race but even so, they normally don't work properly and don't let you launch properly. On a road track, an auto is much worse off then a manual as the manual you can use it for helping you slow down, you can shift without power engaging right away, so many more options which allow you to have full control over what is happening. This is why if you turn off ABS, traction control, stabilizer, and other various electric controls you will perform better.
