Okay everyone! I'm finally taking the chance to update everyone on what I'm doing. Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning I was up in Las Cruces at a buddy of Richard's (EmperorSS for those that don't know yet) house. Richard, his nephew, friend Martin, and I were working hard to get my camshaft installed and boy was it fun.
For 13 or so man hours, we were knee deep in wrench-turning, oil-drenched madness! Well at 1200 hours on Wednesday we finally finished the installation and turned that 6.2 Liter over! Man what a difference. Nice lobe at idle and loud as hell.
We went to take it for a ride and noticed that there was a nasty vibration in 6th gear. Most noticeable at low RPMs but present throughout the range. I ended up calling Ted Jannetty (for newbies, he is THE man) and told him about it. Low and behold, what everyone has been telling me, those E3 Plugs were the problem.
Those plugs are a PIECE OF CRAP!!! But anyway. I switched back to the stock AC-Delco plugs (new) and Charlotte has never ran as good as she did since. Amazing what a difference plugs can do. By the way, Richard found that one of the E3's was burned out and wasn't working properly.
So with my cam install finished, we decided to get started on Richard's. Since I am writing a lot here I will let him tell the details. But I will say that before I left Las Cruces on Thursday, things weren't looking good for Richard's install.

:(
Well I guess that's it for my update. Keep the posting alive guys!
Oh yeah, Friday nights in Las Cruces are CRAZY! Everyone should go!
