I think they were comparing naturally aspirated engines.
The 3.8's design dates to the early 60's. It had it's day and then some - it was a great engine for the last century. I've ridden in a fair number of cars with the 3.8 and while good, it doesn't compare to this new SIDI engine.
I am hoping for a good FI system for these new v6's, either from the factory in the next gen or from the aftermarket. Would be nice to have another 150 or so hp on tap with good gas mileage for the regular commute!
