This is the only point I was trying to make.

If you look at the GT boards you will see them race on runways from a roll, and you always know after the race who has the faster car. They usually race from 20 to 120. Ather the race no one is changing air pressure or trying different launch techniques to go faster, simply mash the gas and go.
I have to agree with you. GTBOARDS has done a great job of testing these high-performance cars, and after 120 it's painfully clear which car is faster; the one who leaves the other behind. That was my thing with the Mustang 5.0 vs the SS, sure...the 5.0 may beat the SS in a 1/4 mile if it has a pretty decent driver but after that I see the SS catching the 5.0 and leaving it behind on the high end.

Even in MotorTrends drag-race of the BIG 3, the 5.0 did win, but any person watching can see it didn't do it by much, the SS was dead on it's bumper and or a little bit past it and closing in fast then the race ends. I would have loved to see what would have occurred if the race continued. The 1/4 mile is the contest nearly everyone uses to determine which car is faster but like previously said, your quarter mile time depends upon your launch, driver skill, and traction, but from a 20-120mph+ roll, throw that out of the window, the faster car will always pull ahead and past the slower car, despite whatever cars 1/4 mile time.

Roll racing is for ricers... the 1/4 is where you race.
This comment is silly. GTBOARDS testing beyond the quarter mile...for a reason.
