I have been a pretty big mustang fan all my life. I have had a few of them and have always been happy with them. My current mustang is a 93 cobra. I sometimes look at what the competition has to offer. The last camaro was faster in stock form, and it did have some nice features, but I liked the smaller, more nimble feeling the Mustang had over GM's boat.
I was really excited back when the 05 mustang concept came out, but then the tail lights got ugly and the interior got crammed full of really cheap plastic, not to mention the poor design. The car still looks good going down the road, but I knew it wasn't for me. This 2010 mustang is a bad dream come true. What is ford thinking with those fisher price tail lights?! I heard they were re-designing the car to "look smaller". That's so people will think it gets better MPG, right? A 15hp increase, that's it?! I doubt this has anything to do with Ford's current financial problems, since they knew this camaro was coming a long time ago. It was predicted a long time ago that Ford was going to fall asleep at the wheel.
When I saw the camaro concept, I got excited again. The car looks really good inside and out, and should be a great performer. On paper, there is very little the 2010 Mustang has going for it compared to this car. My 93 is ready for a new home. I already know there won't be a new mustang replacing it(2010 or 2011). Hopefully this new camaro delivers the goods. This car is a big step towards saving GM.
