Mine are located at each end of the spoiler on the deck lid, clearly not in a place that could have been hit by a rock or something else.

I just noticed that I have the same exact issue as you with the paint chipping with the spoiler. I just gave my car her first wash today and noticed it a few hours later. Ive only had her for 1 week. Really annoyed right now.
