Yeah, I had tinted windows on my 1995 Cavalier and it made seeing out of the back when backing up very difficult. And it wasn't even totally dark.
I rode in a friends Murano with pitch black rear windows and could hardly see out at night. I had to open the window to see much of anything.
Tint may look good on a show car, but it's too much of a hindrance on a normally driven vehicle.
