I certainly did (bought new in '69), and many other owners both past and present can attest to the performance on first gen. Z/28s. Where many people make their mistake in looking at the factory rated 290 HP is not paying attention to the RPMs of the factory rating. The 302 was capable of far more than the rating point of 5800 RPM and HP ratings of 400+ were quite common at 7k RPM and above (and first gen. Zs would easily turn 7k plus from the factory). Weakest V8s in the first gen. 327cid/210HP and 307cid/200HP that replaced the 327 in the latter part of the '69 model year.
