I knew when I seen your post that you were going to replace the MTI shifter with the Hurst you'd be unhappy. Do yourself a favor and take MTI up on their offer for a new MTI shifter. The MTI shifter is made to last longer than OEM ( forever ), doesn't vibrate, has a firm yet smooth feel and is just the right throw. There multiple handle/knob options from MTI, I choose the stock look but I'm sure the folks at MTI can set you up with a handle/knob to suit your tastes.
