I think he could be asking one of two things; One has been mentioned (the gear ratio) the other could be the type of rear end, i.e. solid rear axle, independent rear suspension like that.

The simple explanation for ratio is this: The number of times that the drive shaft turns compared to one turn of the rear wheel. So, if your driveshaft turned 4 1/3 times around and the tire went around one time that would be a 4.33 ratio. I believe the V6 comes with a 3.27:1 gear ratio.
