Of course everyone leaves out the Coast Guard in these discussions.
It's a good option with a lot of autonomy, variety, and responsibility. There's a law enforcement rate, and regardless of rate, anyone can become a federal boarding officer. It's also the only branch of the military that's also considered a federal law enforcement agency.
