While I'm not a fan of the SRA in the Stang, it still manages to throw down better skidpad numbers then the Camaro.
Are you only going to be driving on race tracks with no turns or pavement issues? If so, then get the Mustang, reviewers STILL say that the live axle bounces around a lot more than the Camaro and that the Camaro is a lot smoother and confidence inspiring. The Camaro may be a bit heavier, but the ride is better.

0-60, they're both so close it's a driver's race. But if you get the 1SS/2SS you'll get more car for your money... Brembo brakes on all 4 wheels (the optional Brembos on the Mustang are only for the front 2), independent rear suspension. You also get 20" SUMMER tires standard, which will give you a lot more road grip, and if you want to upgrade to both the Brembos and summer tires on the Mustang you'll be paying more than you would for a comparably equipped Camaro. The Mustang does offer gearing options which reviewers claim give a Mustang an edge, but remember, those cost more, and you could do the same thing with the Camaro in the aftermarket, also you will lose mileage if you switch out the gears for a performance ratio. I won't talk about the looks since they are subjective.
