For its price I would rather buy a 1SS and modify it. IMO a modified SS will save you a little money and will be faster than the Z28, But the save you a little money part on modifying depends on how crazy your gunna go to modify your SS. If your going for a super build well thats another story. I think the Z28 pricing is gunna be similar to the CTS-V and the fully loaded CTS-V is $70,000+ and the 1SS is $30,000+, so if you buy the 1SS you have roughly $40,000 to spend on mods and for that amount of money is probably gunna put you on 650 - roughly 700 rwhp range. so its for you to decide if you want a moded 700 rwhp monster or a 550 hp w/ factory warranty for the same money.

But if you looking for performance and don't want to modify you car then the Z28 is for you.

But for me I would go for a Modified SS than the Z28
I'm not sure why people think the Z28 will cost as much as a CTS-V. Sure, they will share some performance parts. But the CTS with the 3.6L has the same engine and similar suspension to the V6 Camaros. And there is a huge price difference between the two. So it doesn't really follow that when you apply the same formula to the CTS-V vs Z28 that they'd match each other in price.
