Only the early big blocks had the engine size above the V the later ones had it below below the V, the last year or so they were used the small block V had no engine size designation at all...

They wouldn't have used V flags on a 6 cylinder because they were not V6's they were straight 6's
6 cylinder Nova had it's own emblem back in 63 and 64, it looked like this

The V flags were only used on the 67 and I think the 68 Camaro but they may have been, in 69 they just put the numbers of CI size in front of the front side marker lights.
No second Gen had the V flags.
