The 99 Z28 also was a a 13 second car stock vs the 2010 V6 which is a mid to upper 14 second car stock... So in actuality the 99 Z28 is going to be a lot faster and sit you back a lot harder...
now... all that being said... the 2010 V6 is, yes, a blast!

I can help here also. I have the V6 and as daily driver is great and fun to rev up. I also have 98 z28 and no there is no comparison here. Our LS1's were underrated by 40 or so hp, actual net was 340-350 and torque was 350-360 net. Chevy we all guessed didn't want the vette overshadowed by the camaro so kept numbers down but dynos all showed average of 290-300 at the wheels for 98-99's m6's and 270-285 for auto.
Where you might feel its close is on the street.Do you remember how our cars felt slow and didn't feel like it had the get up and go the old LT1's did because they seemed to have more bottom end grunt it seemed? Difference was our cars ls1 had a torque curve as flat as a pond and wide as a river. not peaky These v6's are kinda the same in that regard and like to rev up high to 6-7000 rpm so you will "feel" kinda like the ls1 but will be able to rev higher. It will be a fun street car.
