I think I'm going to do it right before the countdown for the ball drop happens. I'm going to start a conversation about arbitrary holidays that people celebrate without really appreciating their special meaning. I'll talk about how New Years Day is a free, meaningless day off of work that people waste without reflecting on how important a fresh start or change is to their lives. I'll tell her that the greatest resolution I can make is to spend the rest of my life loving her as much as I do this moment, and then I'll get on one knee.
