I was thinking about that statement too

"The greater specific output provided by DIG also would allow for greater engine downsizing, thereby improving fuel economy even further"

I was just thinking about the same size engine based on the generation, but I makes sense we might in fact see a smaller engine (Perhaps 5.7L or 350ci) that is still making over 400hp.

That would actually be pretty cool. A smaller engine would drop a few pounds off the overall weight of the camaro too, improve the F/R weight distribution, etc.
