As for a smaller GEN V engine going into the Camaro, I was thinking in terms of there still being a 6.2L LS3 vette out the same year.

A smaller GEN V DI engine (doesn't necessarily have to be a 350ci) would allow for GM to put the new technology in a new platform, and still keep the Vette with a bigger and likely stronger (on paper at least) engine.
