I spent two years as a bartender (19 -21 yrs old). Not a lot of pay, but WOW... the sheer amount of LIVING that happened was amazing.

As far as your educational future, both avenues you've listed help people, so kudos to you!! The question is "What fulfills you more in helping people?" Helping people overcome the chains that bind them, or prosecuting the 'bad people'. From your comments (that I've read), you seem to be a person who enjoys helping and empowering people. The psych route seems to be more along what you've posted, but hey... I don't know you. Strength, courage and good fortune to you!

In today's economy, I think just HAVING a job is worth celebrating!

With over 40 million Americans on food stamps, and almost 50 million expected to be doing the food stamp thing in 2011... you are blessed. The kids may complain about the food, but the attitude of the person they get it from huge. Thank you for being a positive person that the kids can look up to!
