I had afm on my Avalanche, and could hear when the engine kicked in and out of afm. It sounded "funny" (yes that's a technical term) when afm was on but wasn't annoying so is this the sound people are referring to, or is it the vibration noise you already hear with the stock system at around 70 mph cruising on the highway? If it is the vibration noise you already hear, how much louder does it get with AXLE BACK not catback?
Yea, honestly man...I just cannot see the AFM or drone being THAT bad with the resonators if you do not have any headers or anything else modified from the cat-back and you are only installing an axle back as I stated... Everyone seems to be addressing the issue of the catback and not axle...

I would imagine that "funny" sound was the AFM you heard from the avalanche. Was that with an aftermarket setup? I don't consider drone or vibration as a "funny" or even annoying sound, more of a humming...

Again, I've had only ONE person with the CAI and axle back send me a private message about his setup. He said the AFM is noticeable but he does not play music often. I do...I play it moderately loud. Not burn your ears loud, but easily into the 13-17 volume range of the boston acoustics system....he also said while at times it can be annoying, if he had to, he wouldve bought the same setup again. He did admit he would tune the AFM out after a few years, but was hesistant to do so on a new vehicle.

I could see the AFM being an issue for people who like to roll the windows down and only listen to the exhaust, while I do that on occasion, it is a rarity in this 105 degree FL weather for me...
