Not to mention that the $100 kits don't have high/low beams in cars with single lamps on each side. This is done using a motorized adjuster that aims the lights high an low by moving the lens, the bulb, or sometimes moving a refelctor shield near the bulb.

The general thing I heard about these cheap kits is that they act as high beams all the time and you have to crank the adjustment screws way down to keep people from constantly flashing their high beams at you for blinding them, and you have to live with the fact that you no longer have high AND low beams.

Also remember that you'll get HID colored light coming out of a regular reflector and bezel. With the lights off it's going to look the same as any other non RS. There's no way in heck you're going to get a projector beam lens and the halo ring lighting in a $100 kit.

The complexity of the system means it should be quite some time before you see a real working and cosmetically correct aftermarket solution, and it will probably cost $500 or more.

You might get lucky and find a wrecked RS in a junkyard in a few years and be able to salvage them from there.
