How do you figure that if a burglar gets arrested for breaking into your house, that the ploice make money off of that..... let's see there is the investigation by the police (which isn't free), the prosecution of the criminal (not free again), the defense attorney for the criminal, (not free again) The trial, (still not free) and the prison/jail term, (not free yet) not to mention the parole/probation after they get out of prison/jail, (This isn't free either)
After all that money out the door to put someone away, I don't see all the departments getting paid by anybody for doing their job.

Investigations is the job of police.
Prosecution isnt done by police and you pay court fines and phucking fees out the ass even for traffic court.
Defendent pays defense attorney if found guilty in a lot of states.
Trial...again court costs.
Prison...well they pay $20 a day to be locked up down here.
