fwiw..I have a 6 speed manual 2008 corvette and I never seem to activate the 1 to 4 shift...

The program is such that the oil has to be at full operating temperature and you have to shift out of first gear at 20 mph or less..

no offense but I never shift out of first gear at 20mph or less. Its a non issue ..

As far as driving the manual in the city? I drive mine in Manhattan (New York City) and its a breeze. The clutch is light. The shifter easy.

I wouldn't let any worries that its a tough clutch or shifter deter you from getting a manual transmission Camaro. That said...if you want an automatic tranny. Go for it. I am sure the automatic V8 camaro will kick some serious @ss.
