First off, for 2009, the comparison is camaro, to GT500, the camaro needs to focus on looking up, not down. 2nd, the mustang reportedly gets 400hp for 2010, so the GT's time is coming very soon, because that 400hp will be in a lighter wrapper...it will be a MUCH closer race then, and since Ford has a decent aftermarket (unlike dodge), it WILL be GAME ON. 3rd, stock for stock for almost even money (less than 2K diff), the 370Z will eat the mustang GT 1/4 mile and especially road course...according to the estimated times in C/D. The 370 gets better mileage and would be more fun to drive as well...and Nissan has a pretty robust aftermarket as well...you will see TT kits for these VERY soon, so camaro's SS or not look out.

Personally, I'd like to have seen for give the mustang the 400hp motor and a 6 speed now, but it still looks decent, and is a pretty good value for the fun it is. But Chevy has aimed the camaro to be in a whole other league with the drivetrain, suspension, and chassis archetecture. Just can't wait to drive it.
