Steven Faraday (owner of LMR) is a good guy and shouldnt be taken lightly. He knows what he is doing and I'm kinda suprised he said that. I would investigate further, as I'm sure he has a reason, see if he can explain why he feels that way. Ask him if he has in fact tested a Whipple on a 2010 Camaro yet as they have only been recently released.
As for which is better, I guess it really depends on what you're after but I gotta say ... after tuning dozens of Maggie cars and then John & Tim's Whipple cars, the Whipple gets my vote hands down if its power and room to grow you're looking for. I think the Maggie has a better "instant snap" feel but the numbers show large gains from the hit and through the top.
As someone mentioned earlier, the Whipple keeps going up top while the Maggie (2300) runs out of steam before the end of the pull.
