My son is in Iraq and he has ordered a 2SS/RS. We are a GM family and I own a Corvette and am waiting for my dealer to pull my order for a CTS-V.
Buy the Camaro, it's hands down a far superior car. The Dodge is based on a 4 door sedan chassis and weighs much more than the Camaro having a huge impact on raw performance numbers (in favor of the Camaro) but also in general vehicle dynamics. Toss a Camaro into a corner and you'll quickly appreciate the lower weight and IRS.
When I was in Viet Nam I lusted after a Corvette, when I got home the first thing I did was buy a brand new 1972 454 Corvette, so I can appreciate your desire.
